Below is a story about Damon Galgult having won the Booker Prize.
We are proud to be able to say that he won the English Olympiad in his Std 9 year on 1980. Our national chairperson, Malcolm Venter, vividly remembers calling the quietly-spoken young man in his Pretoria Boys’ High uniform to receive his prize.
Who knows, maybe SACEE helped launch him into his literary career!
