The Limpopo Schools Debating Championship will take place on Saturday, 3 September 2022 at Mitchell House College from 8:30 – 16:30 (three preliminary rounds and a final). Schools that have participated in the Polokwane, Turfloop and Seshego debating leagues are invited to attend the championship.
The prepared topics for the championship are:
- South Africa should have compulsory voting for national and provincial elections.
- This house believes that China’s rise is good for the world.
- The United Nations should restrict the Security Council’s veto power.
- This house would resort to civil disobedience to bring attention to the climate crisis.
Registration for the tournament is R400.00 per team of THREE members. Registration fee covers a light lunch and adjudicator fees. Further proceeds go towards national affiliation fees.
Schools are encouraged to register two teams: one junior team and one senior team. If a school would like to register more teams, please contact me before the tournament so that we can arrange additional adjudicators.
