SACEE Polokwane congratulates the learners of Capricorn High School and their coach, Kgantshi Mathekga. They join SJ vander Merwe Technicial High School and Northern Academy Secondary School. These schools have all brought the SAASTA Schools Debate Trophy to Limpopo.

The team received top honours at the provincial tournament hosted on Saturday, 28 August 2021. Showing themselves triumphant on a day that had it’s fair share of technical challenges.

They then went on to compete at the national championship that took place online on Saturday, 9 October 2021. The team took top honours there too.

We are exceptionally proud of the school’s achievement. We are also proud that Kgantshi Mathekga has gone on to inspire the next generation of debaters. He was a debater at Northern Academy Secondary School when the SAASTA Debates Trophy was won by a Limpopo team for the first time!

The SAASTA Schools Debate is an annual competition hosted by the National Research Foundation. The competition aims to increase leaerners exposure to the sciences and encourage learners to communicate science to each other in constructive ways.
