2021 Limpopo Schools Debating Championship

Dear Educators and Coaches

The 2021 Limpopo Schools Debating Championship is scheduled for Saturday, 4 September. The tournament will take place at Mitchell House College. The registration deadline is Thursday, 26 August 2021 17:00PM. Schools that have participated in the Mokopane, Polokwane and Turfloop debating leagues are welcome to attend the event.

The prepared topics for the event are:

JUNIOR DIVISION

• In times of a national crisis, this house supports governments efforts to lie to its public.
• This house believes that African states should not invest in space travel.

• This house supports the use of health passports.
  Information: Health passports are government issued documentation that outline that the health vaccination status of an individual. Health Passports are a requirement for travelling, employment etc.
• In order to curb disinformation, this house would force social media sites and platforms to permanently remove anti-vaxxer accounts.

Registration for the tournament is R400.00 per team of THREE members. Registration fee covers a light lunch and adjudicator fees. Further proceeds go towards national affiliation fees.

Schools are encouraged to register two teams: one junior team and one senior team. If a school would like to register more learners, please contact me before of the tournament.
